Bio
Dr. Radek Łapkiewicz is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, where he heads the Quantum Optics Laboratory. He completed doctoral studies at the University of Vienna in the group of prof. Anton Zeilinger, specializing in experiments with entangled photons, while his master's thesis was prepared at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, under the supervision of prof. Czesław Radzewicz, working on measurements of ultrashort laser pulses. Radek Łapkiewicz's scientific interests include the use of quantum effects in imaging, e.g. in super-resolution microscopy or phase imaging, as well as fluorescence microscopy techniques in biological imaging.
Since 2015, he has been managing the Quantum Optics Laboratory where, together with his team, he has been carrying out grants from the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP; First TEAM) and the National Science Center (NCN; Fuga and Sonata). He is a laureate of the Start FNP scholarship and the fellowship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
